The Costa del Sol is a Spanish golf holiday region that needs little introduction. For years it was so popular with European and overseas golfers in the spring and autumn months that in our opinion it became a victim of its own success; overpriced, overplayed and overcrowded and we no longer felt comfortable promoting it. But we have kept an eye on things and as more world class golf courses and hotels open it has now reached a point where demand can be more easily satisfied, prices have stabilised and the venue owners recognise they are under fierce competition from other, emerging golf holiday regions. It is still a case that on some of the more popular golf courses, early booking is essential and some hotels still give priority to guests on their affiliated courses. We will gladly talk you through those that apply these policies but we are confident now is the time to return here. It is, after all, the place where the golf holiday boom began and where the choice of golf courses is almost limitless.
